The Golf School at The Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa is a custom-designed learning center where all facets of your game can be worked on in privacy and beauty. Located at the south end of our range at the Pete Dye Resort Course, the academy area features a 4 station covered hitting bay featuring state-of-the-art swing analysis combining video and current teaching tools to shape your swing. The instruction area is 100 yards wide and all grass for true to life playing conditions. The area also includes a full putting green and separate full pitching green complete with a complex set of bunkers even Pete Dye would be proud of. Our highly skilled instructors can attack any area of your game and produce on course conditions in a teaching area second to none. Be it a sidehill lie or fairway bunker shot, our instructors can meet your needs in hourly private instruction or daily golf schools. Let's start improving your game today!! Academy Contacts: Barry Clayton, PGA: Barry Clayton is the Director of Instruction at The Westin Mission Hills Resort since 1996. He leads our staff of PGA and LPGA Professionals in the instruction of our guests and residents. He coordinates all of our Golf Digest Golf Schools, Troon Golf Getaways, Westin Golf Academy Schools and our many private hourly lessons. Barry is the "2003 Desert Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year" voted on by his peers and continues to search for the most simple to understand teaching techniques. He has worked with and taken instruction from some of the worlds leaching teaching legends to include Jim McLean, Tim Mahoney, Mike & Sandy LaBauve, Craig Shankland and Dr. Gary Wiren. Barry is also a very highly rated player in Southern California having finished in the top 10 in numerous local and regional tournaments. He has taught thousands of golf lessons to golfers of all skill levels but his biggest thrill is in simplyfing your golf swing and making understandable adjustments creating fun and joy in your game.
